ARCHITECTURAL                    DESIGN II

Module Aim :

Introduces the principles and methods of analysis, abstraction, and synthesis in design thinking that are common to many design fields, including building and architecture. The key emphasis of the studio is “User and Context”, which investigates the relationship between user and natural environment

Learning Outcome :

Able to-
1.
Explore architectural design through the abstraction of 2-dimensional

and 3- dimensional composition of space.

2. Produce design possibilities through the use of architectonics in a

simple architectural form, space, and function.

3. Interpret simple site context, client’s character, and needs in relation to

the design of a small building.
4. Establish a basic level of understanding of materiality and detailing as means to capture experiential qualities of design.
5.Interpret design ideas into habitable architectural spaces through drawing and making

Extends understanding
of architectural principles, design, concept, and process. Explores the relationship between site context, spatial experience, and architectural tectonics.

Explore architectural design through the abstraction of 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional composition of space
