         Project no.1

MODELS & TATOOS

Expressions through Design Elements and Principle

PROJECT AIM

INTRODUCE A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES, PROCESSES, AND APPROACHES IN GENERATING IDEAS, DEVELOPING DESIGN, CREATING GEOMETRIC 2D ARTWORKS (TATTOO STAMP), AND TRANSFORMING THEM INTO 3D FORM (MODEL).

DESIGN ELEMENTS ?

DURATION : 3 WEEKS

- VISUAL TOOLS THAT THE ARCHITECTS USES TO CREATE COMPOSITION

DESIGN PRINCIPLES ?

- REPRESENT HOW THE ARCHITECT USES THE ELEMENTS OF DESIGN TO CREATE AN EFFECT AND TO HELP CONVEY THE ARCHITECT'S DESIGN INTENT

-------FOUNDATION OF THE LANGUAGE TO BE USED TO EXPRESS AND EXPLAIN YOUR DESIGN -------------------

SUBMISSION

-X 2 MONOCHROMATIC TATTOO STAMPS  WITH EACH  MIN SIZE OF 100MM X100MM X 100MM

-X 2 MONOCHROMATIC MODELS WITH EACH  MIN VOLUME OF 100MM X100MM X 100MM

FINAL MODELS
& TATOOS

  • In my tattoo stamps, the hierarchy can be seen by the shape, size, and thickness of the line. The combination of thicker /bold horizontal and vertical lines with a unique intersecting design is to emphasize dominance in the tattoo stamps and to bring attention to it also the thin line in different  heights serves to be surrounded it

  • In translating the tattoo stamps into 3D, this model uses centralized organization. The centralized organization emphasizes the hierarchy in this model with a concentrated composition that consists of different short, thinner line groups and surrounds the dominant thicker line in the central space of the model.

  • This model also incorporates interlocking organization (can seen from the side and top view) with the interlocking portion of the thick lines from each direction sharing equally the middle space. The uses of this organization are well present in the intersecting design of my tattoo stamps.

  • Both of these organizations can be seen with our vision moving from the side's center points towards the top view of the model

  • By looking at the tattoo stamps, spaces are seen in a variety of sizes, and rhythm is shown by the repetition of the spaces in a specific pattern. (regular rhythm)

  • In Translating the tattoo stamps into 3D, I have applied clustered organization and subtractive forms in this model. The aim of the subtraction in the structure of the spaces is to experiment with the potential of how spaces could be organized in a unique form. The use of clustered organization has emphasized the rhythm in this model by looking at each point of view.(the top ,side, and front view ) with the transition of spaces from bottom to top and also from one side to another .This is to create us an expression of a movement and repetition of spaces with it articulated in size and orientation within the pattern. Interlocking is also embodied in this model with each space is interlocking each other by sharing the same trait

"REFLECTION-----------------

- THIS PROJECT HAVE ACHIEVED ME A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF DESIGN PRINCIPLES, PROCESS, AND APPROACHES IN GENERATING IDEAS,DEVELOPING DESIGN, AND TRANSLATING IT INTO FORM.PLUS, I HAVE ALSO DISCOVERED THAT APPLYING THE  RIGHT GUIDELINES AND APPROACHES ENCHANCE THE EXECUTION OF MY INNER THOUGHTS .

TGC :

- EVEN THOUGHTS THIS PROJECT IS CHALLENGING FOR ME  BUT I'M ABLE TO THINK CRITICALLY AND CREATIVELY IN THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPING THE MODELS AND TATTOO STAMPS. I AM ALSO COMPETENT TO DEFINE AND ANALYZE PROBLEMS TO ARRIVE AT EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS .

TGC :

TGC :

 - I HAVE GAINED THIS TGC WITH EXPLORED THE DESIGN PRINCIPLES AND DESIGN ELEMENTS INDEPENDENTLY AND ABLE TO EXTRACT,SYNTHESIZE AND UTILISE THE INFORMATION EFFECTIVELY â€‹â€‹.

- I AM ABLE  TO MANAGE MY OWN EMOTIONS, COPE WITH CHALLENGES AND LEARN NEW INFORMATION THROUGH THIS PROJECT.IM  RESILIENCE AND ABLE TO OVERCOME DISTRACTION/ STRESS WITH A OPEN-MINDEDNESS AND PATIENT AND SELF MOTIVATED IN DOING THE WORK THROUGH THE PROCESS.
