GREEN STRATEGIES FOR BUILDING DESIGN
This module focuses on exploring passive sustainable strategies in architectural design, examining how different architectural elements can integrate these strategies to enhance the quality of spatial experiences within a building. Students will conduct case studies to analyze the application of these strategies and their influence on the overall spatial experience. This understanding will inform and guide students in their own studio projects,
P1A :
Passive Green Building Case Studies
In a group project, we are tasked with analyzing and researching case study buildings from different climatic regions, focusing on aspects like climate, delighting, natural ventilation, site planning, building orientation, facade design, landscaping, and other active strategies. We have selected INTER CROP OFFICE and OLYMPIC HOUSE
for our study .
P1B :
Reflective Write -Up
Each student is required to develop both passive and active green building strategies alongside their final architectural studio project. The task includes visiting a green building, then preparing a reflective write-up on what we have learned from the visit and from Assignment 1, explaining how they intend to apply these strategies in their projects.
