ARCHITECTURAL
DESIGN I
The module aims: To present and explain design through the expression of the perception of ‘self and the body, constructing, and materiality in terms of tectonics. Students will undertake a series of studio-based exercise and assignments that introduces the fundamental methods, principle, and approaches in design thinking and basic spatial design.This will be enhanced the understanding of anthropometrics and designing intrapersonal space with creative exercise involving the body movements and experiences of the user.
Learning Outcome: Students will be able to
1. Produce concepts through the process of exploring various sources and abstracting ideas.
2. Identify key architectural design elements and principles and employ them in creating an architectural composition that demonstrates space making.
3. Relate the idea of the individual"self and the body" to space and its experiential qualities
4. Establish a basic level of understanding of materiality and detailing as means to capture qualities of the design
5. Demosntarate satisfactory manual drawing and model-making skills to represent and communicate the design.
